Local college gets into Holiday spirit Print

A local college is doing its part to help the less fortunate this Holiday season.

The Oshawa campus of triOS College is collecting toys for underprivileged children in the community. The triOS Toy Drive runs from now until December 10, 2010 at all triOS locations. Everyone is encouraged to visit any triOS location and drop off a new or gently used unwrapped toy.

All triOS campuses are participating; the Oshawa campus will be donating their toys to the Durham Regional Police Christmas Food and Toy Drive.

"Almost each and every day I am amazed at the generosity of triOS staff and students," says triOS Marketing Manager Jason Johnston.  "Our student newsletters are always filled to the brim with community efforts such as fundraising events, and food and supply drives. It seems only natural for us to heat things up during the holidays with a toy drive. We are very appreciative of everyone's generosity, and can't wait to see how many toys we can get,"

Even the children of triOS employees are learning the meaning of Christmas. "I brought my two kids to the store and told them to pick out a toy for another child," says Jason Toms, triOS Manager of Information Technology. " Being as young as they are, they didn't really understand who these toys were going to. I had to explain that some children don't get a lot of toys and sometimes we have to help them out,"

The Oshawa Campus  of triOS College is located at 200 John Street, Suite C5 in Oshawa.
