Police arrest woman for attempted robbery Print

A female suspect was nabbed by Durham Regional Police Monday morning after an attempted robbery at a Mac's convenience store in the South end of Oshawa.

On Monday, January 24, 2011 just before 1 a.m., officers were called to the Mac’s convenience store on Wentworth Street in Oshawa regarding an attempted robbery. A female suspect had just entered the store, demanded money from the clerk and threatened to call in a male friend if the clerk did not comply. When another customer entered the store, the female suspect left. No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.

Shortly after the incident, officers located the female at a nearby apartment building and arrested her. They discovered a seven-inch kitchen knife in her purse.

An Oshawa woman, age 26, of Wentworth Street is charged with: Attempt Robbery and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. She was held for a bail hearing.
